My 51st Date
is probably the best romantic movie that I know. A very touching story – Henry played by Adam Sandler meets Lucy played by none other than the beautiful Drew Barrymore at a café in Hawaii. They have a chat and by the end of the day both agree to meet up the next day at the same café. Next day both are at the café but to Henry’s surprise Lucy doesn’t recognize him at all. Henry soon finds out the Lucy suffers from a short-term memory loss as a result of a car accident. For Lucy each day is the same day as it was the previous day. All her activities were repeated each day and the next day she has no trace of anything that she did the previous day. Henry however won’t give up on her and decides to be with her and help her even if means to put down all his dreams and try everyday just to make her finally remember him.
I don’t know if one could love another so much as in this movie but I learnt that movies give birth to dreams and when dreams are shattered it’s very painful.
