Professionalism in Tennis

Take a racket, wipe your face, step on the court and prepare yourself for a mano-o-man death match. Under scorching heat, holding a racket, running around wiping your sweat serving and returning the ball as hard as you possibly can is what you need to do in order to play tennis. To be a professional it takes even more than that. Being watched by thousand of eyes and false calls from the officials is what you will have to be able to resist. The threatening eyes of your opponent can set you off balance. Your arsenal of weapons consists of your guts, determination, skills, power, mental ability, concentration, speed, stamina and sheer luck. Under the hot sun, your armory consists of only cap, racket and the indulging fluids. To me, tennis is truly the “Sport of the kings.”
