Marian Ten

Tennis siren Maria Sharapova has listed her top 10 fantasy male tennis dates on her official websites and placed with the provision that they indulge in a “night session, please”. All those big bugs would no doubt be thrilled to hear of former WTA tour No.1’s interest, like most other red-blooded males across the globe. Sharapova, who turned 20 last month, didn’t make it clear if her top 10 were listed in any particular order and included both sportsmen and other world figures in chart, listing the reasons behind her choices.

Siberian Sharapova wants former ATP No. 1 John McEnroe so she “can yell at umpires” with him and selected Russian President Vladimir Putin because “nobody would mess” with them were they to be paired on court. Heir to the British throne Prince William rated a mention, because “everybody would love us at Wimbledon”, and Manchester United and Portugal football player Christiano Ronaldo was a selection because Sharapova says, “they’d make one hot team”. She picked out James Bond, without mentioning the actor who would play that part. She appears to have her set her sights on Australian golfer Adam Scott, who has been based in the US like the statuesque. Also, she had included NBA basketball star Yao Ming and LeBron James, U2 frontman Bono and Hollywood star Orlando Bloom in her top 10 of dream “mixed doubles”.
